ABC Data Checklist Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence tools are helpful in determining the events and stimuli that impact behavior. Once we identify these stimuli, we can change the environment and alter our behavior in ways that will impact the world around us.
ABC Sample This document provides one example of an ABC data sheet that has been completed on one specific target behavior, yelling. From the antecedents listed and consequences identified, you may begin to see patterns emerge in regards to particular responses that either alleiviate or exasperate the target behavior.
BCBAs & BCaBAs by US State (2007) - This chart illustrates the number of BCBA's and BCaBA's in each US state as of 2007. The inforamtion is limited to the number of Behavior Analysts who chose to report their status on the Certifcant Registry with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The information presented considers the distribution of BCBA/BCaBA per capita and per square mile. While this information is 3 years old, I am certain it still offers a valuable perspective into the growth across and the areas of need within the United States.
Behavior Intervention Plan (Chart) Behavior Intervention plans can be tricky to create. While you want to be mindful to include the necessary components (observable & measurable target behaviors defined, suspected functions, responses upon occurrence of target behavior as well as responses upon non-occurrence, recording procedure, replacements behaviors and reinforcement procedures) you also want to be able to create a document teachers and parents can reference quickly. Here is one example of a Behavior Intervention plan/summary that is presented in visual form.
Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) Sample - Functional behavior assessments are evaluations that with the use of indirect and direct methods of obtaining information, can be helpful in identifying the antecedents and consequences which maintain behavior. Video Modeling: Functional toy play - Video modeling has been used in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis to teach skills such as conversational speech (Charlop & Milstein, 1989), perspective taking (Charlop-Christy & Daneshvar, 2003), and complex play sequences (D'Ateno et al, 2003). Some research evaluating the models has been conducted to include an investigation of effectiveness when siblings as the identified model (Taylor et al, 1999). This link will lead you to a sample video that could be used for the purposes of teaching complex play sequences, more specifically one way in which to appropriately engage with a toy car garage.
